QuantumDigital Achieves Forest Stewardship Certification

Forest Stewardship Council Recognizes QuantumDigital’s Dedication to the Conservation of Environmental Resources

AUSTIN, TX — April 1, 2008 — QuantumDigital, the complete online service provider for direct mail, on-demand digital printing and eMarketing solutions, has achieved certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) on behalf of the company’s focused environmental efforts in 2007. FSC is recognized by the corporate and governmental sectors and the Non-Governmental Organization community as the model to ensure that forest resources are maintained for today and for future generations.

In 2007 QuantumDigital recycled 80 tons of paper, saving over 1,300 pulp producing trees, half a million gallons of water and approximately 300 cubic yards of landfill space, making the company an obvious candidate for FSC certification. Also, by utilizing QuantumDigital’s on demand digital printing technology, customers are able to print marketing materials on demand rather than storing a large inventory of materials that not only leads to the need for extra storage room, but ultimately leads to extra waste.

“Conserving environmental resources is a long-standing company tradition for us, our vendors and on behalf of our many customers,” said Steve Damman, president and CEO of QuantumDigital. “Through the years, we have implemented industry-leading practices for recycling materials and using environmentally friendly materials, and it is wonderful to be recognized for meeting or exceeding the FSC certification criteria.”

QuantumDigital provides customers with a “greener” experience by working with other environmentally conscious companies, such as NewPage – an integrated paper, packaging and forest products’ company that has also been third-party-certified by the FSC – and Xerox. Through the use of the Xerox iGen3™ digital presses, QuantumDigital is encouraging its customers to conduct “greener” direct mail campaigns. In addition to superior output, the Xerox iGen3™ offers the following benefits:

• 97% of its components are recyclable or re-manufacturable
• More than 80%, by weight, of the waste generated by the Xerox iGen3™ can be returned,
reused or recycled
• Dry inks used by digital presses are non-toxic and have closed containers with a transfer efficiency rate of nearly 100%

“Our customers expect us to be a good custodian of the environment, so we consistently strive to be ahead of the curve on how to better utilize our resources,” explained Freddie Baird, EVP and COO of QuantumDigital. “And with 150 associates, this certification will have a positive impact on the morale and culture of our company to be good stewards of the environment.”
